My name is Bianca Marinescu, I’m 23 years old, and I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Acting from UNATC “I.L. Caragiale” Bucharest. I love acting, music, and dance equally. Occasionally, I paint, draw, and write scripts, poems, and plays. Practically speaking, the only art form that hasn’t yet found its place in my life is sculpture — but there’s still time.
I’ve found the perfect place to bring all my passions together: the world of musical theatre, where I’ve already performed in numerous Romanian productions such as The Sound of Music (directed by Răzvan Mazilu), as well as Matilda, School of Rock, Heidi, and Grease. I also combine music, dance, and acting in classical theatre productions, such as my one-woman show ,,Do Fish Sleep?", currently running at the Metropolis Theatre.
I believe an actor should be like a magician’s hat — always able to pull out, surprisingly, as many skills as possible.
If I were a performance, I would be a continuous “work in progress”, never afraid to share myself with the audience. My university professor would call me Juliet, and I would reply that I am Lady Macbeth — until I understood that one doesn’t exclude the other.
I’ve gathered pieces of myself from everything around me: from the roles I’ve played, from books, films, the people I love, those I admire, and from many other experiences. I believe others perceive me as a stained-glass window without a definite shape, to which a new piece is added every day — and with it, a lot of color.
